MC60 Arduino HAT Overview
MC60 is a quad-band, full-featured GSM/GPRS module utilizing an LCC castellation package. It comes equipped with an extensive set of Internet protocols, including TCP, UDP, PPP, FTP, HTTP, and SSL. Additionally, it integrates GNSS technology for satellite navigation. Based on the latest 2G chipset, the MC60 offers optimal performance in SMS and data transmission, as well as audio services, even in harsh environments. It also features a Dual SIM Single Standby function.
The MC60 module integrates both GPRS and GNSS engines into one compact and low-profile SMT package. It supports EPOTM technology, which provides a predicted Extended Prediction Orbit to speed up Time to First Fix (TTFF) without the need for an extra server. Utilizing EPO data, the QuecFastFix Online function further reduces TTFF during cold starts, making cold start TTFF comparable to that of hot starts.
The module also supports EASYTM (Embedded Assist System) technology, enabling the GNSS engine to achieve a very fast first fix even when there is insufficient satellite information. Furthermore, the MC60 supports proven AlwaysLocate™ and GLP (GNSS Low Power) modes, ensuring great positioning accuracy while maintaining very low power consumption. The built-in Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) enhances the module’s RF sensitivity and provides exceptional acquisition and tracking performance, even in weak signal areas.
