Overview of MC60E Module
The MC60E is a quad-band, full-featured GSM/GPRS/GNSS module that utilizes an LCC castellation package. It is fully pin-to-pin compatible with the Quectel MC60 module and supports both Bluetooth 4.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 specifications. The inclusion of Bluetooth 4.0 allows for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, which is characterized by ultra-low peak, average, and idle mode power consumption. This makes the MC60E particularly suitable for applications that require energy-efficient Bluetooth wireless connectivity. Additionally, the module supports Dual SIM Single Standby functionality.
Integrated GPRS and GNSS Features
The MC60E integrates both GPRS and GNSS engines into a compact and low-profile SMT package. It features EPOTM technology, which provides a predicted Extended Prediction Orbit to accelerate Time to First Fix (TTFF) without the need for an extra server. Utilizing EPO data, the QuecFastFix Online function further reduces TTFF during cold starts. The EASYTM technology enables a very fast first fix even when satellite information is insufficient.
Power Saving and Performance
The module also incorporates AlwaysLocate™ and GLP (GNSS Low Power) power-saving modes, ensuring excellent positioning accuracy while maintaining ultra-low power consumption. The built-in Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) enhances the module’s RF sensitivity and delivers exceptional acquisition and tracking performance, even in areas with weak signals.
Applications
With its compact form factor, outstanding positioning performance, low power consumption, and dual (U)SIM card interfaces, the MC60E is an ideal choice for a wide range of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) applications. These applications include bicycle-sharing systems, vehicle trackers, wearable devices (such as smartwatches), pet trackers, asset trackers, and driving recorders, among others.
