6. Transmission power control

## Starting the Simulation

The GPS simulator allows two general simulation modes:

1. Starting Point Mode: Define the coordinates of the starting point, along with speed and direction angle.
2. Path File Mode: Define a movement path on a map and provide the corresponding waypoint file to the device.

### Starting Point Mode

Set the simulation mode to **Dy loc**.

### Path File Mode

When using the path file method, you must first create a file containing movement coordinates. To create the file:

Go to [https://www.google.com/mymaps](https://www.google.com/mymaps) on your computer.

Click **CREATE A NEW MAP**.

**Create a New Map**

Draw a line on the map to represent the movement path

**Add Line or Shape**

for example, a spiral path

**Custom Route Example**

Export the created line as a file.

**Export CSV Data – Google My Maps Route Layer**

Copy the exported file onto a USB flash drive and connect the flash drive to the GPS Simulator.

Set the simulation mode to **Dy file loc** and click **Select File** (wait a few moments after clicking).

**Select Motion File**

From the dialog that opens, select your file from the USB drive. Specify the movement speed along the path and, if necessary, set the altitude above sea level. Click **Start Convert** to process the file.

**Select CSV Route File**

Once the file is successfully processed, a **Finish** button will appear — click it.

### Simulation Settings

**1.Output Power Adjustment**

You can adjust the signal transmission power using the slider on the side of the software menu, ranging from 0 to 47 dB.

The new power level is applied automatically after releasing the slider — no additional action is required.

**Adjust TX Gain Level**

**2.Time Configuration**

By default, the simulated GPS signal uses the real UTC time. However, you can manually set the simulation time and date. To do this:

1. Enable the time adjustment section.
2. Enter the desired date and time.
3. This configuration must be completed before starting the simulation; otherwise, it will not take effect.
4. After setting the values, press Set to apply the time configuration.

## FAQ

What is the EICUT GPS Simulator?

A professional-grade, standalone **GPS L1 signal generator** that simulates realistic satellite signals indoors — perfect for testing trackers, drones, car navigation, and any GPS-enabled device without leaving the lab.

What frequency and power level does it support?

• Frequency: **GPS L1 (1575.42 MHz)**
 • Output power: **0 to +47 dB** adjustable in real time via touchscreen slider

What are the two simulation modes?

1. **Dynamic Location (Dy loc)** – Set starting point + speed + heading (ideal for simple straight-line or circular motion)
 2. **Route File (Dy file loc)** – Load a real-world path (CSV from Google My Maps) for complex routes, turns, spirals, etc.

How do I create a custom route file?

Go to [Google My Maps](https://www.google.com/mymaps) → Create new map → Draw your path → Export layer as **CSV** → Copy CSV file to a USB flash drive → Plug into simulator → Select file → Set speed → Start.

Can I change speed or direction during simulation?

Yes — in **Dy loc** mode, modify speed, heading, or vertical speed at any time and press **Update**. Changes take effect instantly.

Can I set a custom date/time instead of real UTC?

Yes — enable manual time section → enter desired date & time → press **Set** before starting simulation.

What is the built-in GPS receiver on the front panel for?

It’s a **reference receiver**. Connect its antenna (rear panel) to the simulator output — it instantly shows whether your simulated signal is being received correctly (great for quick verification).

Do I need internet on the simulator?

No — the device works completely offline. The Ethernet port is only for future firmware updates.

How do I turn the device on/off?

1. Flip the red rocker switch to ON (I)
 2. Press the red push button once to power on
 3. To shut down safely: Stop simulation → Hold the red push button for 3 seconds

Is it safe to use indoors?

Yes — the output is a low-power controlled signal designed for lab/testing environments. Always connect devices via cable (do not radiate freely in open space).
