# GNSS Evaluation Board Series B

## Basic Overview

The GNSS Evaluation Board Series B is a fully featured evaluation platform that allows you to explore and utilize all the capabilities of the GNSS module. Since all the necessary components for powering and operating the GNSS module are integrated on the board, you can easily communicate with the module by simply connecting a single USB cable for both power and data. A passive GPS antenna is built into the board to enable quick startup. However, if needed, you can connect an active antenna via the onboard u.FL connector. A convenient switch is provided to easily toggle between the passive and active antennas.

## FAQ

What is the GNSS EVB (B) Board?

A complete evaluation board for high-performance GNSS modules — plug in one USB cable for power + data. Includes built-in passive antenna, active antenna support, UART switching, level shifter, and RTC backup supercapacitor.

    Which GNSS modules are supported?

• **Quectel L26DR** (dual-band)
 • **Quectel L26**
 • **Quectel LC29H** (high-precision)
 • **Quectel LC29T** (timing-focused)

Do I need an external antenna?

No — a high-quality **passive GNSS antenna** is built-in and selected by default. For better performance, flip the RF switch and connect an active antenna via the **U.FL connector**.

How do I communicate with the module?

Connect the **USB Type-C cable** — the board appears as a COM port (CH343P USB-to-TTL). Use QNavigator or any terminal at 115200 baud. UART can also be routed to the 14-pin header via slide switch.

Can I connect it to 5V logic devices?

Yes — onboard bidirectional **level shifter** + jumper lets you select **3.3 V** or **5 V** logic on the 14-pin header. Safe for direct connection to Arduino, ESP32, etc.

Is there backup power for faster hot starts?

Yes — a **supercapacitor** provides RTC and ephemeris backup. Connect/disconnect it with the dedicated jumper for seconds-fast restarts after power loss.

How do I reset or wake up the GNSS module?

Two dedicated push buttons:
 • **RESET** — hard reset
 • **WAKE-UP** — exit low-power/standby mode

What signals are available on the 14-pin header?

• UART (TX/RX)
 • **1PPS** timing pulse
 • **3D-FIX** indicator
 • I²C (SCL/SDA)
 • Geofence, Jam indicator
 • 5 V / 3.3 V / GND

    What are the board dimensions?

Compact size: **74.8 × 53.85 mm** — ideal for bench testing or integration into prototypes.

How do I power the board?

Just connect a **USB Type-C cable** — provides both power (5 V) and data (virtual COM port). No external supply needed.
