FAQ #

What is the EC200U Mini Development Board?
+

A compact, powerful 4G LTE Cat.1 platform based on the Quectel EC200U series — supports global LTE-FDD, dual SIM (nano + eSIM), Wi-Fi/BT scan, and integrated GNSS.

Which LTE bands are supported?
+

EC200U-CN: Optimized for China and Asia-Pacific
EC200U-EU: Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia, etc.
Full band list in the datasheet — supports LTE Cat.1 bis up to 10 Mbps DL / 5 Mbps UL.

Can I use both nano-SIM and eSIM at the same time?
+

Yes — the board has one nano-SIM (4FF) slot and one soldered MFF2 eSIM. You can switch between them via AT command (AT+CUSIM).

How do I communicate with the module?
+

Connect via USB-C → appears as multiple COM ports:
• Highest-numbered port = Main AT UART (115200 bps default)
• Lower port = Debug/Log port
Also exposed on pins: Main TX/RX and separate Debug TX/RX.

Does it support GNSS (GPS)?
+

Yes — integrated multi-constellation GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo). Dedicated GNSS U.FL connector for active antenna is provided.

Is Wi-Fi / Bluetooth available?
+

EC200U supports Wi-Fi scan and Bluetooth scan (passive only). Full BT/Wi-Fi transceiver is not included, but a shared U.FL connector is present for external antenna if you use a variant with radio.

How to power the board?
+

Two options:
USB-C (5 V) → onboard 2 A regulator
• External 5 V on the +5 pins (peak current ~1.8 A during TX bursts)

What do the four LEDs mean?
+

D1: Module operating status
D2: Network registration
D3: Network activity / data
D4: Power ON

Can I upgrade firmware or enter DFU mode?
+

Yes — pull USB_BOOT pin high (connect to 3.3 V) before powering on → module enters USB download mode (Quectel QFlash tool).

What are the board dimensions?
+

Very compact: 42.72 × 39.60 mm — perfect for breadboarding or integration into final products.
