A modem combining OpenWRT with the Quectel EC200A LTE Cat 4 module delivers a flexible, secure, and highly configurable connectivity solution for M2M and IoT deployments. The EC200A family (CN/EU/AU variants) supports worldwide LTE, UMTS/HSPA+ and GSM/GPRS/EDGE fallback, offering up to 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink with MIMO for improved throughput and link reliability. Its compact, unified form factor and compatibility with Quectel’s EC25/EC21/EC20/EG25 families enable easy hardware migration, while USB serial drivers for Windows, Linux and Android and support for Delta Firmware Over-The-Air (DFOTA) simplify integration and remote maintenance.

OpenWRT provides a powerful open-source router OS layer for advanced routing, firewalling, VPNs, package management and custom scripting, giving integrators full control over networking features and security settings.
