FAQ #

What is the E70 Mini DB?

A compact, breadboard-friendly development board for the E70 LTE Cat 1bis module — designed to simplify prototyping of GSM/LTE + Wi-Fi Scan applications with easy access to all module pins.

What network speeds does the E70 support?

• FDD-LTE: up to 10 Mbps DL / 5 Mbps UL
• TDD-LTE: up to 8 Mbps DL / 2 Mbps UL
Supports LTE Cat 1 Bis with 2G fallback capability.

Does it support external antennas?

Yes — two U.FL connectors: one for GSM/Main + Wi-Fi antenna and one for GNSS antenna.

How do I program or debug the module?

Connect via USB Type-C. Short the USB BOOT jumper to enter firmware download mode. The board uses CH343P or similar USB-to-UART converter for easy AT command testing.

What SIM card type does it support?

Standard Nano-SIM (4FF) slot.

What do the LEDs indicate?

D1 (NETLIGHT): Network status (searching / registered / data activity)
D2: Power indication

What interfaces are available on the 10-pin headers?

Main UART (TX/RX), Debug UART, RTS/CTS, DTR/DCD, RI, ADC, +5V power, and multiple GND pins.

What is the power supply requirement?

Supply 5V via USB-C or the +5 pin. Peak current during transmission can reach up to 1.6 A. Make sure your power source is stable.

Is audio supported on this board?

The module supports 16-bit linear PCM audio, but requires an external audio codec chip for microphone and speaker functionality.

What is the main use case for this board?

Rapid prototyping of LTE Cat 1bis IoT devices, M2M solutions, asset tracking, and any project requiring reliable 4G connectivity with GNSS and low power consumption.
